The Nissan Titan XD with the all new Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel Engine provides excellent particulate matter control. Normally, particulate matter accumulated in the DPF is automatically burned and converted to harmless substances during driving. However, particulate matter cannot be burned under the following conditions:

  • When the vehicle speed stays below 7mph for a long period of time
  • When the engine is frequently stopped and restarted within 10 minutes
  • When the vehicle is oftenly used for short journeys
  • When the engine is frequently stopped before warming up.

For better performance and life of your DPF, you should be serviced every 200,000 miles to avoid potential costly replacements.
